Navigating the mental health care system, justice system, and family-support services can be difficult, especially when families are searching for care that understands their cultural experiences and the realities of anti-Black racism. Black People United For Change Inc. understands the barriers that many Black people in Ontario continue to face, and we recognize how important it is for children, youth, and families to have access to culturally competent, safe, and supportive services.

That is why we have gathered a list of organizations and community resources that are committed to supporting Black communities through advocacy, mental health and wellness, family support, education, mentorship, youth development, and other services. Across Ontario, organizations are working together as one community to foster growth, healing, empowerment, and stronger futures for our children, youth, and families.

The Niagara Region Anti-Racism Association (NRARA) was founded in the summer of 2018 by a Black women and two BIPOC trans folk who experienced anti-Black racism in a previous local anti-racism organization. NRARA’s current campaigns include police reforms in the NRPS (Niagara Regional Police Service), employment equity, and school reforms in the District School Board of Niagara.
